My crafts for the night: a doodle I made at the desk while I did my time, to go alongside my previous doodle. And a birthday fish for one of my residents who is a marine science major.
Michelle and I hanging out with Willow. She hasn’t been around long but has quickly become a part of our little JU family. She is pretty well behaved and very smart (most of the time) and always makes up laugh.
Willow was a rescue dog, part pitt, park black lab, and probably other things as well.
I was feeling a little home sick so my parents came up to visit for the weekend and brought my puppies to visit too. It was a really nice day. We just hung out, ate lunch, talked. My friend Michelle came over with her dog Willow and we introduced her to my family and dogs. Michelle and I went on the little lake with the kayaks and all of us eventually had dinner together. Even Zachary hung out with us for most of the day.
But here are some pictures of my goober dog. They’re actually in reverse order from when they were taken. The first one was when I was getting ready to leave. She was so tired from the day she was zonked out awkwardly on my shoulder. The was pretty tired in the second one too and was laying down on my lap after a nice walk. And that last one just shows how awkward she is.
My bulletin board (before someone ripped it down). Thought, what would be good for February and valentines day? Safe sex! And what better than a board taking a scene from Mean Girls? (Minus the dyslexic error of idu instead of iud.) but that’s fixable.
Unfortunately some irresponsible college children decided to rip it down.
Art project #1 for Figure Drawing:
We were working on drawing the skeleton so Lily set up a model and had us draw it with media of our choice. I also chose a grey paper instead of white so that I could use both chalk and charcoal.
So I decided I was tired of having my shoes on the floor all the time. Or was making a mess and taking up space. So I came up with this and hung it on my bathroom door.
Finding art supplies that are reasonably prices is not a simple task. And sometimes along the way you have to have a little fun. For example, trying on the feathered boas in Hobby Lobby.
I have figure drawing this semester so I decided during staff meeting I would practice my figure drawing skills a little. And i chose pen because pen is difficult and you can’t erase if you make a mistake. It isn’t perfect but I think it’s pretty close. Practice makes you better anyways.
My door tags for this semester: custom Lego people for my residents based on their personalities and things they like.
Right before I had to go back to school I managed to fit in one last day to see my friends. Devin and I went out to eat with Sumer and Angeline, and then we hung out at Anderson Snow. Us girls got to talk together for a while while Devin entertained himself raking the baseball field.
I know Devin likes to be troublesome sometimes. So I decided why not have a little fun? For his birthday I decided I would wrap up a present, a gift card, as much as I could. So I could enjoy watching the frustration as he opened it. Each layer I made sure was turned around so he would not be able to grip multiple layers at a time. Also, just in case he did manage to grab multiple layers, he has to go through three different layers of boxes.
In the end it was very satisfying to watch. His mom, brother, and I say on the couch and laughed. It took him almost 6 minutes.
Some Christmas gifts I made
I just had to made a post dedicated to my puppies, Zylee and Tosh. They are adorable and I miss them.
